What are aftermarket parts?
Aftermarket parts are not manufactured or engineered by Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited - they are manufactured by outside suppliers. These parts are normally generic and designed to fit a wide range of vehicles - not just Ford and Lincoln vehicles.
What's the difference between Ford and aftermarket parts?
Ford Original Equipment (OE) and Motorcraft® parts are designed and engineered especially for Ford and Lincoln vehicles for a precise fit, finish and durability. Our parts are competitively priced and offer unsurpassed quality and performance to help ensure your vehicle runs at its best. Unlike some aftermarket parts, Ford Original Equipment (OE) and Motorcraft® parts are backed by a strong warranty for your peace of mind. Also, our parts are tested in real driving conditions for a greater level of accuracy, while many aftermarket competitors solely rely on laboratory testing.
Do aftermarket parts meet Ford vehicle standards?
To ensure your vehicle's safety and performance, only Ford Original Equipment (OE) and Motorcraft® parts are designed specially for Ford and Lincoln vehicles and are recommended over aftermarket parts.
What are Motorcraft® branded parts?
Motorcraft® parts are engineered, approved and recommended by Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited. They are designed especially for specific Ford and Lincoln vehicle applications and provide identical handling features designed for the original vehicle. Unlike aftermarket parts which typically offer a "one-size-fits all" approach, Motorcraft® parts offer a precision fit which are easy to install.
Is there a difference between Ford and Motorcraft® brake pads?
Braking performance is critical for your safety on the roads. To ensure you get the right parts at the right price, Ford offers a choice:
· Genuine Ford Brake Pads and Shoes offer an Original Equipment design, fit and formulation for Ford and Lincoln vehicles
· Motorcraft® Brake Pads and Shoes are high quality parts designed for Ford and Lincoln vehicles at a budget-conscious price
No matter which parts you choose, all Genuine Ford and Motorcraft® brake pads and shoes are covered by the powerful Ford Protection Plan.
What is the Ford Protection Plan?
The Ford Protection Plan offers no charge comprehensive parts coverage for as long as you own your vehicle on the following parts:
· Genuine Ford and Motorcraft® Brake pads and shoes
· Genuine Ford and Motorcraft® Shocks and struts
· Genuine Ford and Motorcraft® Premium mufflers
· Genuine Ford and Motorcraft® Spark plug wiring sets
If the parts fails due to a defect in material or workmanship, wear out or rust through, they will be replaced at no charge for as long as the original purchaser owns the vehicle on which the part was installed. Labour is covered on Dealer-installed parts for the first 12 months or 20,000 km (whichever comes first) after the date of installation.
What should I look for when buying tires?
When it comes time to replace your tires, you'll find there are many choices. Our tire experts can help you find the right tires for your vehicle by analyzing:
· The type of vehicle you drive and the kind of driving you do (e.g. towing, heavy loads, highway driving, stop-and-go conditions)
· The type of roads you drive on (e.g. highway, off-road)
· The weather conditions in your area
· How many kilometres you drive each year
· How long you plan on owning your vehicle
What additional training do Ford technicians do?
With today's complex systems, it's a science that requires cutting edge knowledge about hydraulics, mechanical, electrical and computerized components, as well as specialized diagnostic equipment. To ensure that our Ford-certified Technicians remain on the cutting edge of vehicle technology and maintenance requirements, they participate in on-going, Ford-approved training initiatives throughout the year.
Are Ford Dealers more expensive?
No. Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited takes the necessary steps to ensure that our Dealers are competitively priced by regularly shopping the competition and completing pricing audits to ensure our prices are in line with other dealerships and aftermarket automotive providers across Canada.
What is a Vehicle Report Card?
Created to show you how your vehicle is doing, the Vehicle Report Card process identifies what critical maintenance needs are required and what work can wait for the future. It's a process we follow at every visit to help ensure your peace of mind and safety on the roads.
